Meet the Brains & Brawn behind Flashback!

Project Update
Project Flashback was conceptualized three months ago in a HDB apartment in Serangoon, as 4 third-year students pursuing a diploma in Business and Social Enterprise racked their brains for their final year project with the objective of combining passion and finishing their last semester with a bang.
Since then, Flashback has evolved to become so much more than what we imagined it could be. Behind the scenes, our team surveyed the whole island of Singapore, conducting community surveys to better understand the social issue of vanishing local trades, the struggles that traditional businesses in Singapore encounter and of course, the needs of our consumers (you guys!). Through our encounters we have managed to build meaningful relationships with these local traditional businesses-- which brings us to the next part.

The Announcement
Flashback is excited to announce that our online shop is going live! Our shop was created in collaboration with the traditional local trades in Singapore, who have been impacted by modernization and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Flashback’s online store will sell nostalgic cultural goods such as traditional roasted coffee beans that will invoke sentimental memories from any Singaporean. All products listed are sourced from traditional local businesses as Flashback operates with the aim to support local vanishing trades in our community, and revive them through modernization-- as Singaporeans can now support them through easier means by purchasing their goods online and having them delivered every Saturday with a flat delivery fee of $3.50.
Sellers & Products
Flashback has partnered with 4 sellers from local vanishing trades who own traditional businesses within Singapore to execute our online collective platform. In our collaboration, we have interesting listings of their goods on our website which aims to reignite all Singaporean’s passion in old school goods, attracting interest in keeping these local vanishing trades alive. Our team has further curated our listings to invoke these characteristics: Familiarity, Nostalgic, Reminiscing and deeply Singaporean.
